Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered. Your Vacation, Personalized.

Planning a vacation should be exciting, not overwhelming. Here are answers to some of the questions I hear most often about working with a travel advisor at DSC Adventures.

1. What types of vacations do you plan?

I specialize in personalized vacations for couples and families, including honeymoons, all-inclusive resorts, Disney and Universal vacations, European travel, domestic getaways, and special occasion trips.

Whether you're planning a romantic escape, a family vacation, or a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, I’ll help you find the right destination, accommodations, experiences, and travel details for your trip.

2. How much does it cost to work with you?

In most cases, my travel planning services are complimentary to clients. I’m compensated by the travel suppliers I work with, so there is typically no additional planning fee for standard vacations.

For certain complex trips, such as large multigenerational vacations, family reunions, or more involved multi-country European itineraries, a planning fee may apply. If a fee is required for your trip, I’ll always discuss it with you upfront before we begin.

3. Why should I work with you instead of booking a vacation myself?

You could book your vacation yourself, but you don’t have to do all the research and decision-making alone.

As your travel advisor, I save you time, help you compare options, provide personalized recommendations, monitor applicable promotions, and handle the details of your vacation. I also provide support when plans change or unexpected issues arise.

Instead of sorting through hundreds of hotels, resorts, tours, and reviews, you get a curated recommendation based on your travel style, priorities, and budget.

4. Do you plan honeymoons and romantic getaways?

Absolutely. Honeymoons and adults-only vacations are one of my specialties.

I can help with everything from choosing the right all-inclusive resort or European destination to arranging romantic experiences, excursions, transfers, and other special touches. My goal is to create a honeymoon that feels personal to you, not like a cookie-cutter package.

5. Do you plan Disney and Universal vacations?

Yes! I plan Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Universal Orlando vacations, including resort stays, park tickets, dining, special experiences, and other vacation details.

I can help you choose the right resort and ticket options, build a realistic vacation plan, and navigate the many decisions that come with a theme park trip.

6. Can you help with family, group, and multigenerational travel?

Absolutely. Family and multigenerational vacations can involve a lot of moving parts, and that’s where having a travel advisor can be especially helpful.

I can coordinate accommodations, transportation, activities, excursions, and other trip details while keeping the needs and priorities of the entire group in mind.

7. Can you book excursions, tours, and activities?

Yes. I can arrange excursions, private and guided tours, transfers, spa appointments, dining experiences, and other activities through my travel partners.

I’ll help you choose experiences that fit your destination, interests, and the overall pace of your vacation.

8. How far in advance should I book my vacation?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but earlier is generally better for popular destinations and peak travel periods.

For many vacations, I recommend reaching out at least 6 months in advance. For highly sought-after travel dates or complex international itineraries, planning 9–12 months or more ahead can give you more options.

That said, if you have a last-minute trip in mind, it’s still worth asking. I’m happy to see what’s available.

9. Do you offer payment plans for vacations?

Many of my travel partners offer flexible payment schedules, allowing you to make payments toward your vacation rather than paying the entire balance upfront.

Payment schedules vary by supplier, destination, and vacation package. I’ll explain the deposit requirements and payment deadlines before you book so you know exactly what to expect.

10. What happens if I need help while I'm traveling?

You won’t be on your own once your vacation begins. I’m available to provide support when unexpected issues or questions come up during your travels.

While I can’t control things like weather, airline delays, or supplier policies, I can help you understand your options and navigate the situation.

11. What happens if my travel plans change or I need to cancel?

I’ll help you understand the applicable change and cancellation policies for your trip and assist with the process when possible.

Because policies vary by airline, resort, cruise line, tour operator, and other suppliers, I’ll make sure you understand the terms before booking. I also strongly recommend considering travel insurance to help protect your investment against eligible covered situations.

12. What is the process for booking a vacation with DSC Adventures?

You can learn more here.

13. Do you only book travel packages, or can you help with individual travel arrangements?

I can help with a variety of travel arrangements depending on your trip, including resorts and hotels, airfare, theme park vacations, tours, excursions, transfers, and other travel experiences.

The best place to start is with my quote request form so I can learn what you're planning and determine how I can best help.

14. Do I have to book a trip to get started?

Not at all! Getting started doesn’t mean you’re committing to book. The first step is simply completing my quote request form so I can learn more about your trip, travel style, and what you’re looking for.

From there, I’ll let you know what I recommend and whether I’m the right fit to help plan your vacation. If you decide to move forward, we’ll take it from there.
